Start of the Trail

Southern Utah has always been one of my favorite places. If you haven’t spent time Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches or Capital Reef National Parks, I highly recommend. In 2008, I was unemployed for a bit, drove around out west with a tent for a few weeks, and spent some quality time in Utah. In 2010, when I started painting again, I was inspired by the freedom I felt on that trip. This painting represents the anticipatory/free feeling I get at the start of a hike, like a new adventure has begun! Enjoy!
