Spring in Minnesota

I moved to Minnesota in 2008 and started exploring my new home state. In 2010 I started to paint my “Seasons in Minnesota” series. The painting “Spring in Minnesota” was inspired by the bike commute to work I had at that time. Every morning I would bike around Lake Harriett and Lake Bde Maka Ska. When you bike the same route day after day, you really notice the daily changes that happen in the Spring. It was so cool to watch the buds gradually emerge on the branches and the spring grasses gradually gain in height. Enjoy!
