Rainforest Roots

In 2017, I took a road trip around the National Parks in northwestern Washington State and spent a few days hiking in the Hoh Rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula. As I hiked, I become obsessed with all the intricately exposed root patterns which surrounded me and their contrast with the tall straight tree trunks they supported. I came home wanting to paint an ode to roots. Enjoy!
